Women-Led Games SGF Showcase: INFERIUS

Ludic Rain Studios has shown off a trailer for INFERIUS, the upcoming Dante's Inferno meets Lovecraftian horror title. Set in the underworld ruled by nine sins, players will have to use a mixture of first-person stealth and card-based combat to defeat each sin in its dominion.

This roguelike experience is split into two major gameplay pillars that players will engage with. For the stealth sections, they'll have to sneak past the horrors of the dominion, using a lantern that'll manipulate the environment and allow them to traverse through the inferno.

Meanwhile, major combat against the leaders of each dominion will transpire in the form of card-based battles. Using the Major Arcana Tarot Cards, players will need to strategise to defeat each of the nine rulers.

Of course, as a roguelite experience, death is going to be a prominent part as players try to dominate the sins of Hell. Each death gives players new strength that'll make each encounter easier than the last — strategising, enhancing cards, and using effects to play the odds against the foes that await.
