Southeast Asian Games Showcase: Merry Crisis

Ending a long relationship can be a hard experience, especially if it’s messy. Everything is a reminder of the past, and previously enjoyable day-to-day life can feel awkward and muddled, which is why many decide on a change of scenery to get a break. In Monsoon Games’ upcoming romantic visual novel, Merry Crisis, this is the situation the player finds themselves in, as their character returns to their home town.

Centring around the themes of loss, love, and healing, the player is given a week to get to grips with the many characters and love-interests fate seems hell-bent on bringing back into their lives, while they also struggle with the decision of returning to their earlier life or staying in their birth home. Featuring meaningful choices, beautiful hand-drawn art, and deep character customisation, Merry Crisis promises to be a gripping tale.

Merry Crisis is set to release during Q4 of 2026 and has a demo available on Steam.
