Summer Game Fest 2026: New Cuphead

Studio MDHR didn’t have a big celebrity name for their Summer Games Fest. Instead, they went with a Jim Henson–style muppet guy in a sharp suit. He doesn’t actually look like Cuphead, despite announcing himself as such. His head is more of a tumbler shape, but he still looks awesome. Besides, I don’t care how misshapen he looks; he announced that it is in development and that’s something I’ve been hoping to hear for ages!

But that’s not all; he also offered us a sneak peek of a new game. That game was Mighty Cuphead Adventure. It looks like a Master System platformer. We saw a perfectly pixelated rendition of our favourite drinking vessels in a traditional 8-bit style adventure, complete with an amazing-looking low-resolution version of the root vegetable boss. It appears to be a co-op too, with Cuphead and Mugman both running along their merry way at the start of the trailer.
