Women-Led Games SGF Showcase: Fields of Aaru
Shown off at the Women-Led Games Showcase, Fields of Aaru is a game set in the ancient Egyptian afterlife, where players begin a life along the Nile. You build a home by the river, help restore a village that has fallen into disrepair, and take part in everyday activities such as farming, fishing, gathering resources, and shaping the land through irrigation and canals.
As you settle into life in Aaru, you meet villagers, complete quests, and learn ancient crafts including stone shaping, clay firing, and field irrigation. The world also invites exploration beyond the riverbanks, with deserts, oases, ruins, and tombs offering rare materials, hidden knowledge, and new opportunities to craft and build.

The game also features divine and regional progression. By making offerings at shrines, players can earn blessings from gods such as Ptah, Hapi, and Sekhmet, each granting different advantages. Beyond the Nile, new regions can be discovered, with fresh landscapes, mysteries, treasures, and ancient obelisks that unlock new ways to travel.
The Fields of Aaru demo is available now on Steam.
