So I Tried... Party Hard

So I Tried... Party Hard

I’ve been given the opportunity to give a Party Harda punt for 30 minutes as part of the “So I Tried” series. I’ll give it the same deal as previous “So I Tried” participants, half an hour whether I like it or not. This is the PC version of Party Hard by Pinokl Games and published by tinyBuild who also published the excellent Divide By Sheep.

What I thought it was

A nod to the Sinclair Spectrum classic How To Be A Complete Bastard but with more death and fewer fart jokes.

What it actually is

An 8-bit stealth strategy game where you stop the noisy party next door however you can. Poison, explosions, electrocution and if necessary, a knife.

Will I keep playing?

Chuffin’ Hell YES! After pushing people into barbeques, hiding a corpse in a fridge, blowing up a meth lab and getting busted multiple times by the cops while stood over a corpse with a bloody knife in my hand I have LOVED this game. It’s cathartic in a big way for anyone who, like me, has a noisy neighbour but is aware of how much of a bad idea kicking in the door with a hatchet would be (that dog of his is huge!).

They were giving out half price codes on Twitter last night so I nabbed a copy of this. I see what you mean about being like a modern day HTBACB, it's awesome!
